Guemes Island Luminary Parade 2018
This year Guemes Island Luminary Parade 2018 was very colorful with all the beautiful custom built luminary lanterns. The event was possible with the very talented skills of luminary artist and Guemes resident, Loalynda Bird. The event started at the Guemes Island General Store near the Guemes ferry landing. There were many very bright and vividly colored lanterns of different sizes and shapes. A good portion of the lanterns are created on the theme of Puget Sound water and sky critters. The turnout was fantastic with many island residents and a large number of people from Anacortes. Once all gathered with lanterns in hand, they headed out for a short walk around the block. They then returned to the Guemes store to celebrate the night with live music and dancing.
Hope you enjoy my capture of the event. Please share where you like unaltered.
